Nelson Peltz, the activist investor agitating to win two Disney board seats, criticized the company’s “woke” strategy — specifically questioning Marvel’s “Black Panther” and “The Marvels,” which featured Black and women leads, respectively.

The 81-year-old Peltz, who has admitted he “never claimed” to have experience in the media business, made the comments about “The Marvels” and “Black Panther” in a recent interview with the Financial Times. “Why do I have to have a Marvel [movie] that’s all women?” Peltz asked rhetorically. “Not that I have anything against women, but why do I have to do that? Why can’t I have Marvels that are both? Why do I need an all-Black cast?”

Flowervale Street will star McGregor and Hathaway in the lead roles in a film described as “a family adventure set in the 1980s involving dinosaurs.” The film’s release date is May 16th, 2025 on regular theatre and IMAX screens. Flowervale Street will be written by Mitchell, who has a busy schedule coming up as he prepares to shoot They Follow, the anticipated follow-up (no pun intended) to his breakout horror film It Follows.

Mitchell will produce alongside Bad Robot’s J.J. Abrams and Hannah Minghella with Matt Jackson of Jackson Pictures and Tommy Harper. Warner Bros. and Bad Robot will oversee the production.

Freut mich, dass Mitchell zurück ist, und das auch noch gleich mit drei Produktionen. Habe schon befürchtet, er hätte den Richard Kelly gemacht.

After landing 10 Oscar nominations for last year’s historical crime epic “Killers of the Flower Moon,” the 81-year-old director has mapped out his next several projects. Sources say he plans to shoot two films back to back: the first about Jesus, the second a Frank Sinatra biopic.

The Oscar-winning director who helped usher in the Hollywood New Wave of the 1970s is looking to bypass the studio system and independently finance “Life of Jesus,” based on Shūsaku Endō’s 1973 book. He took the same approach with the 2016 drama “Silence” (which also was adapted from an Endō novel). In fact, Scorsese would like to reunite with “Silence” star Andrew Garfield for the Jesus project, though it’s unclear if the 40-year-old actor is being eyed for the titular role or to play one of the disciples. (Scholars believe Jesus died sometime between the ages of 33 and 38.) Miles Teller has also been eyed for the picture. Production is expected to begin later this year and shoot in Israel, Italy and Egypt. Filming in Israel could prove too great of a logistical challenge given that the country is at war with Hamas in Gaza.

The Sinatra project could also hit some snags: The legendary crooner’s daughter Tina Sinatra controls her father’s estate and hasn’t yet given her blessing to the film. But that hasn’t stopped Scorsese from putting together a killer cast that would see frequent collaborator Leonardo DiCaprio playing the singer and Jennifer Lawrence portraying his second wife, actress Ava Gardner, sources say.

Sehe ich auch so. Wobei ich das Anfangs auch über "Killers of the Flower Moon" dachte, welcher mich dann doch sehr gut abgeholt hat.

Ich würde ja gerne nochmal eine Komödie von ihm sehen...

Joa, abwarten. "Die letzte Versuchung Christi" und "Silence" waren auf dem Papier ebenfalls nicht mein Ding, aber ich mochte beide sehr. Auch mit Biopics kann man mich für gewöhnlich jagen, aber da hat er den Wolf und Aviator abgeliefert. Von daher erlaube ich mir erfahrungsbedingt erstmal kein Urteil. Marty liefert immer.

So ist es, von daher freue ich mich über jedes Projekt von ihm. Ich war nur einmal wirklich enttäuscht, bei "Gangs of New York". Und da dachte ich im Vorfeld, dass das genau mein Ding werden wird. War aber falsches Erwartungsmanagement, mittlerweile habe ich da auch den Zugang gefunden und schätze den Folm sehr.
