Also wenn der Trailer halten kann was er verspricht, Holy Shit.....
Ich bin zwar keine Arachnophobiker (eine Tarantel würde ich allerdings niemals auf die Hand nehmen, hätte ich panische Angst oder zuviel Respekt), aber der Film könnte bei mir eine Wirkung haben. Zum Vergleich "The Fall", als jemand der kaum auf einer Leiter höher als 2m stehen mag konnte ich bei dem Film jede Sekunde mitfiebern.

Darf halt nur nicht zu Platt sein. Und wer die Wyrmwood Filme gesehen hat weiß, das Sting sehr brutal werden könnte.

Ich denke mal weil

a) Insidious gut aussah
b) es den Sehgewohnheiten des modernen Publikums entspricht
c) wir hier keinen Retro-Film haben, der ein anderes Grading notwendig macht

Nicht falsch verstehen, ich bin selber Oldschool-Fraktion. Im Gegensatz zur Musik funktioniert bei mir aber auch der moderne Film-Look,
weil er immer noch nach Film aussieht und nicht zwanghaft einen auf Retro macht. Der Look passt einfach zu Horror-Filmen.

Bei Sachen wie X oder Pearl würde das nicht funktionieren. Das moderne Hollywood hat ganz andere Probleme. Zum Beispiel der völlig übertriebene CGI Einsatz.
Wenn sie das bei diesem Film in den Begriff bekommen und der Trailer sah danach aus, dann ist das was für mich.
Im Gegensatz zu Ratten oder Schlangen, hab ich vor Spinnen nämlich panische Angst. Vor CGI Spinnen allerdings weniger :D

Ich freu mich drauf.

Tja schade, mehr Familiendrama statt Spinnenhorror

The film starts like a horror comedy with overacting and wild POV camera angles, only to then get serious again with family drama and then after about 45 minutes go back into horror comedy. While tonal inconsitencies can work if they represent the state of a character's mind (i.e. Clockwork Orange), they don't work in a silly horror film with a paper thin plot. The movie never knows what kind of film it wants to be, and thus undermines both the scares and the jokes. The creature and gore effects are fine.

I saw this movie had a good score, particularly for a horror. I thought the opening scenes were alright. The movie's visual style kinda reminded me of "Willard"

But the movie fails to execute. Instead of a creepy or thrilling horror about monstrous spiders - we go on and on with the family drama. We get scenes with a dementia-striken mother, arguments between a stepfather and stepdaughter, arguments between a husband and wife, and discussions about the family's income (mostly tied to the patriarch's odd line of work as a comic-book illustrator). They should've scrapped these scenes and went more with the spiders.

What is set up to be a creature feature turns into a family drama for most of the film. There is a great possibility with the introduction of our main "Creature" but the film veers off course and we lose sight, literally of the creature. I don't think the film could decide what it wanted to be until the very end. Because of this I couldn't really get a sense of the story as it was being told. The pacing again was really slow or maybe it was a wait until they got into some of the more elaborate set pieces. The effects were well done, all things surrounding the creature worked. The rest of it didn't really work.

The first 15 minutes were great. It was so 80s and so creature feature and set the tone so well. Unfortunately, it was brought down by lackluster storylines, things that had no connection to make sense, random moments of "shock" that tried to connect with everything else, and random plot lines that never showed up previously. I'm genuinely so disappointed that this started so strongly and then descended into random, complete, utter, bad writing that no amount of plot twist could save it from. It had such a good beginning with such good creature feature feeling with such good actor as the child that just turned into such a let down. The writing completely ruined this movie that otherwise had such good directorial moments and it's such a shame when this could've been great.

Ne Ne 😉 Mich hat mit 12 mal ne Spinne im Garten gebissen ganz kleines Mist Ding, Stunden später is mein Arm angeschwollen und knall rot gewesen.
Dann gings ab ins Krankenhaus.

liest sich bisher alles wie Musik in meinen Ohren... wird auf jeden Fall im Kino geschaut.

Doch doch, der Film ist schon ziemlich gut. Das Familiendrama bremst den Horror meines Erachtens nicht aus und ist auch solide ausgearbeitet. Dass das Kind mal wieder ein wenig "überqualifiziert" ist, muss man natürlich hinnehmen.

Kinobesuch lohnt auf jeden Fall.

Konnte ihn auf dem FFF leider auch nicht schauen, wird aber nachgeholt sollte er hier laufen. Spinnen gehen (fast) immer, sogar bei Lavalantula hatte ich Spaß. Gerade heute die Terasse aufgeräumt und beim anheben eines Sack voll Erde ein Spinnennest enttarnt. Plötzlich sind alle ausgeschwärmt, mich juckt es jetzt noch

Ich fand den kurzweilig und unterhaltsam, ich weiß auch nicht was man hatte groß besser machen können, eventuell etwas brutaler und ekliger, trotzdem eigentlich genau das was man erwarten sollte, hab dazu auch nen Text geschrieben, wer Bock hat...

Was war das denn für ne Spinne? Es gibt ja bei uns nicht viele, welche überhaupt die menschliche Haut durchdringen können.
Und warum hat sie dich gebissen? Hattest du sie provoziert?
Ich frage nur, weil ich kenne überhaupt niemanden der hierzulande von einer Spinne gebissen wurde und eigentlich dachte ich, dass das erst neuerdings theoretisch mal vorkommen könnte, wegen diverser invasiver Spinnen.
